4 – Tell me a little bit more about their collections, quality and models.
Unparalleled integrity and original ideas result in the constant development of different sophisticated lines and collections. This is truly value-added lighting in many ways; that was the intent of the original founder, Paulo Alexandre Coelho. They are well-known for the collaboration of design, artistic flair and technical expertise which is evident in the brand itself and in the custom single projects that they perform. An exquisite portfolio literally illuminates their work which is found in many places throughout the country and the rest of the world. Most of the items in each of the collections are available in five models: pendant ceiling, flush ceiling, wall sconce, table lamp and floor lamp. Five primary styles are also available, including contemporary, modern, classic, rustic and children's. Highly-varied combinations of materials are used, including many items that are hand-made and carefully sourced. At present, there are over 60 collections available in an enormous array of models, colors, styles and materials. Let's explore a few of the many collections that are available and see what the addition of value brings to the world of lighting.
The Arty Mate line is comprised of matte lacquered wood as its main element with chrome intonations and hansel. Its minimalist, timeless design gives the collection its attractive, versatile and contemporary look. This design is complemented by the patterned shade to give the line a sense of simplicity, design and balance. The shade is also available in several colors to suit the client's wishes. The flexibility of the Arty Mate collection lends itself to a dimensionally customizable solution that is almost unlimited in its application. This collection has been exclusively designed for Paulo Coelho by João Graça. Sizes range from the wall lamp at 13.77" (35cm) x 5.90" (15cm) to a ceiling-flush light with customizable lengths starting at 18.89" (48cm). All models use the E27 type of socket, and will require from one to three bulbs depending on the model configuration.
The unique identity of the Twist Cromado collection lies not only in its style, but by the method used simply to turn on the lamps. Its distinguishing twisted chrome and pleated fabric is in tune with the philosophy and purpose of the company itself, as is the use of a Swarovski crystal as an enigmatic method of turning it on. These features give the Twist Cromado line its modern yet luxurious character. This line was also exclusively designed by João Graça and is available in a wide variety of colors, including stroffi black. In this collection, sizes range from 6.2" (16cm) x 23.6" (60cm) ceiling-flush light to the pendant ceiling lamp with shade dimensions of 27.5" (70cm) x 82.6" (210cm) maximum length. The pendant and table lamps are also available in two shade diameters: 19.6" (50cm) and 27.5" (70cm) for the pendant lights, and 9.8" (25cm) and 15.7" (40cm) for the table lamps. All models use the E27 socket; the wall lamp also incorporates the use of a 1W LED.
Whether you love the open sea or prefer to have your feet firmly on the ground, the Reed collection will lend a new distinctiveness to any environment with its marble base, fiberglass body and cloth shade. This unique composition of materials and finishes will bring an irreverent delight to a room and definitely catch the eye of any fisherman. The base of the shades may be either convex or concave, and this is another João Graça design. The Reed line comes in a variety of sizes and lengths from 7.87" (20cm) to 19.69" (50cm) shade diameters and 37.4" (95cm) through 78.74" (200cm) depending on which model is chosen. All of the models in this line use the E27 socket as well, and may use either a halogen or LED bulb.
The warm lighting of the Timber collection brings to mind a mixture of rustic and contemporary styles. Turned oak complements the hand-made cotton / nylon cord shades in this unique design. These distinctive lamps range in size from table lamps at 8.66" (22cm) x 21.65" (55cm) to ceiling lights at customizable lengths from 29.53" to 68.90" (75 – 175cm). Shade sizes are available in 8.66" (22cm) and 16.54" (42cm) widths. This line also displays a ceiling light with a decorative pulley system that may be used on a single base at a width of 9.84" (25cm) or on a dual-base system with a customizable width of 11.81" – 35.43" (30 – 90cm). These models also are manufactured with the E27 socket and use either a halogen or LED bulb.
