Spanish lighting designer Antoni Arola draws inspiration for the old to create the new
Spain is no longer simply known as the originator of paella, sangria, and flamenco. The country has also become noteworthy for producing top lighting designers who are transforming the world of lighting. At Interior-Deluxe, we feature a wide variety of luminaries, so if you're a picky homeowner looking for the perfect ceiling pendant or wall sconce, you can rely on our wide selections from renowned Spanish designers like Antoni Arola. Arola was born in Tarragona, a picturesque city in the northeast region of Spain. He studied at the Escuela Superior de Diseňo Eina in Barcelona. Following his graduation, Arola began his career in design in 1984 when he worked at Estudio Lievore y Pensi. Six years later he switched jobs and began working at Associate Designers. In 1994, Arola left to jumpstart his own career by creating Estudi Arola, his own design studio in Barcelona. Arola has been awarded various prizes for his exquisite work, but perhaps the most notable are two Delta Design Awards and Nacional Design Prize in 2003. He's worked on a variety of lighting projects for designers such as Santa & Cole, ArtQuitect, Metalarte and Viabizzuno. He reportedly draws his inspiration from ancestral cultures. The Cubrik 100 pendant lamp and Leonardo suspension lamp, both offered on our website, are two luminaires that exemplify and showcase Arola's unique methods of perceiving light and crafting beautiful works of art. Both fixtures come in voltages that allow them to be used in countries like the United States, Canada, Spain, China and Australia.
