Designer Spotlight: Achille Castiglioni

In today's designer spotlight, I would like to share with you one of the early masters of modern industrial design. Achille Castiglioni is known for some very influential and iconic pieces. His inspiration was said to come from everyday things, and he incorporated everyday materials in his designs. Today I would like to discuss Mr Castiglioni's contribution to the world of modern lighting. Born in Milan in 1918, Mr Castiglioni grew up in an area that was well-known for being one of the epi-centers for design. He studied architecture and in 1944, created a design studio with his brothers Livio and Pier who were also designers. In 1956, Mr Castiglioni founded the Association for Industrial Design. Let us take a look at some modern lighting designed by Mr Castiglioni.
