Product Details:
The Leave the Light on oil lamp has been designed by Julia Thesenfitz for Anthologie Quartett. The object designed or, to be more precise invented, by the hamburg designer Julia Thesenfits entitled 'leave the light on' is usually only irritating at second glance: a match on a porcelain cube that ought to go out at any moment but still continues to burn for hours; Because the match is made of brass, containing a wick that absorbs lamp oil from the porcelain cube. The quality of 'leave the light on' is due to the convincing combination of its captivating function (an oil lamp that can burn for a long period of time), its frill-less design and its break with visual habits and human experiences. The trick, which in fact is not a trick, never degenerates into a gag, and still does not lose its fascination when the secret of 'leave the light on' has been revealed.
